US Club Soccer Partners with Storelli on Head Gear

Marks bright future for soccer protection.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 19, 2018) – Spurred by rising demand for solutions against head injuries and US Club Soccer’s commitment to fostering a safe, Players First environment, US Club Soccer and Storelli have announced a multi-year partnership that makes the Storelli ExoShield Head Guard the “Official Head Gear of US Club Soccer.”
While head protection is still relatively new to soccer, concerns about head injuries in soccer are mounting and most players, parents and coaches are unaware of potential solutions. New studies, including a recent one by Virginia Tech’s Helmet Lab, indicate that head gear can materially reduce the risk of head injuries in soccer.
This is a major milestone that Storelli expects to be echoed by ongoing clinical studies. The Storelli ExoShield Head Guard is the highest-rated product in the market, with an estimated 84 percent reduction in head injuries, according to Virginia Tech.
The goal of the partnership is to educate US Club Soccer members about head injuries and potential solutions, including head gear.
“We’re proud to welcome Storelli to the US Club Soccer family and look forward to adding value to our members through this partnership,” US Club Soccer CEO Kevin Payne said. “Storelli is the leader in protecting soccer players from head injury and its commitment to safety is echoed by US Club Soccer. Since our players deserve the best, Storelli is a natural partner for us.”
“Storelli is thrilled to partner with US Club Soccer and support its mission of developing soccer clubs across the nation and promoting safety in the sport,” Storelli’s CEO Claudio Storelli said. “We strongly believe that the first step towards decreasing head injuries is educating players, parents and coaches on causes and potential solutions, and this partnership is a move in that direction.”

US Club Soccer’s mission is to foster the growth and development of soccer clubs throughout the country to create the best possible development environment for players of all ages in every club. The primary vehicle for accomplishing that ambition is Players First: a branded, holistic club soccer experience for parents and players which emphasizes the development of each individual to his or her full potential, and helps parents make better choices about where their children should play.
That Players First philosophy is anchored by five pillars:
- Club Development
- Coaching Development
- Player Development
- Player Engagement & Education
- Player Health & Safety
In particular, Player Health & Safety is the emphasis, as US Club Soccer prides itself on fostering the safest environment for players in youth sports. US Club Soccer has implemented best-in-class background screening as part of its coach/staff registration process. The effort coincides with a requirement for those registered staff members to be “SafeSport Trained” and complete the Sideline Sports Doc/US Club Soccer online injury triage course.
Based in Brooklyn, Storelli is the only brand dedicated exclusively to head-to-toe protection for soccer players across all age groups, genders and skill levels. The Storelli ExoShield Head Guard is the soccer headgear of choice for tens of thousands of players worldwide, including world-class professional players in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
