Bought this for rollerblading; it has a good amount of thick padding on the sides in case you fall sideways. The padding felt rigid when I tried it out at home but once I got into the blading routes, I just completely forgot about its existence which means it did not hinder my movement at all. Could also squat comfortably without issue.
